Instructor Course
Have you ever considered becoming a CPR instructor?
At First on Scene, we offer instructor courses that will give you the skills and confidence to teach others how to effectively administer CPR to adults, children and infants and will provide you with an instructor certification card from The American Heart Association and The Resuscitation Council of Southern Africa.
The course is divided into 3 days
DAY 1
The CPR course for future instructors
We will spend the day covering all three of the different CPR courses available (Basic Life Support, Heart Saver and Family & Friends). These courses are taught in great detail with all of the most common mistakes and questions asked by students covered. Here you will complete and receive a certificate for the course.
DAY 2
The Core Instructor Course
The day will be spent covering general educational theory, teaching techniques, venue set up, questioning and examination techniques. Students will also receive a manual and a worksheet manual with CD ROM that needs to be completed at home. After completing the course and CD ROM work sheet, you will receive a Certificate for the core instructor course.
DAY 3
The Discipline Specific Module
The first part of the day will be spent covering all of the administration work required to run The American Heart Association courses. The second half of the day will be spent putting into practice the skills acquired on days 1&2.
After completion of the 3 day instructor course, you will have 90 days to set up your own course on which you will have your final assessment. After successful completion of this course, you will be awarded an instructor certificate and will be free to offer and teach CPR courses yourself.
