First on Scene is a Johannesburg based first aid training company that offers certified First Aid level 1, 2 and 3 (QCTO SP/SETA US), CPR for Everyone, Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) courses to the general public, companies and medical professionals.

Courses can be booked as a group or on an individual basis. They can be run at our venue, your company, home or medical practice.

First Aid Basics

This first aid course has been designed for people who require the skills to respond to a medical emergency but have limited training time available or do not require official certification. Content of this course may be adapted to include specific content to suit the needs of special interest groups such as hiking or cycling clubs.

First Aid Essentials

the FIRST AID ESSENTIALS FOR CHILDREN course is intended primarily for those who are expected to provide CPR and first aid directly to children. The course targets all lay responders such as parents, caregivers, guardians, domestic workers and family members wanting to learn first aid essentials for children

The First Aid Level 1

The First Aid Level 1 course is intended primarily for people wishing to learn the effective skills of providing CPR and First Aid to victims of all ages. This course is for anyone with limited or no medical training who needs a Department of Labour First Aid Certificate to meet job, regulatory, or other requirements.

The First Aid Level 2

The objective of this course is to allow students with a basic knowledge of first aid to become proficient and confident in the practical application of their skills. A lot of time will be spent on primary and secondary surveys and introduction to patient simulations so students learn to make the right decisions on the extent of an injury and treat it correctly.

The First Aid Level 3

The objective of this course is to allow participants with an advanced knowledge of first aid to become proficient and confident in the practical application of their skills. Theory learnt on the Level 1 and 2 courses is taught at a higher level and is all done in scenario based settings.

Basic Life Support

the BASIC LIFE SUPPORT (BLS) course is designed to teach the skills of CPR and choking for victims of all ages, including ventilation with barrier devices, pocket masks, bag-valve-mask devices with supplemental oxygen and the use of Automated External Defibrillators to all healthcare providers in both hospital and out-of-hospital settings.

CPR for Professionals

Developed by the Resuscitation Council of Southern Africa, CPR for Professionals course is designed to teach the skills of CPR and choking for victims of all ages, including ventilation with barrier devices, pocket masks, bag-valve-mask devices with supplemental oxygen and the use of Automated External Defibrillators to all healthcare providers in both hospital and out-of-hospital settings.

Advanced CPR for Professionals

The ACPR for Professionals course focuses on the advanced management of patients in cardiac arrest and post cardiac arrest. The Course is designed for anyone who is required to respond to cardiac arrest in an in-hospital or pre-hospital setting using equipment and pharmacology available to professional healthcare providers.

Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Course (ACLS)

ACLS is a practical, simulated case-based Course that will enhance resuscitation skills in the management of cardiac arrest and peri-arrest patients. Learning is facilitated by extensive hands-on practice.

Instructor Course

At First on Scene, we offer instructor courses that will give you the skills and confidence to teach others how to effectively administer CPR to adults, children and infants and will provide you with an instructor certification card from The American Heart Association and The Resuscitation Council of Southern Africa.
